DIFFERENT WAYS TO SHARE
Here are a few different types of messages that you could send encouraging people to support my project. Though it would probably be helpful if you add a more personal tone, these are templates that get across the most important information. The message may be different depending on how well you know me or what you want to convey; these templates are simply intended to make the sharing process faster. Thanks!
EXAMPLE 1
Hey! [insert something personal like “long time no see - how’s work in Seattle been? I’d love to catch up sometime!” or “Hope your project’s been going well”]
I’m reaching out because my [friend/niece/former student/etc.] Marlee is fundraising for a project that she really cares about (and which I think is pretty neat!) She’s looking to spend a year in several different countries researching different aspects of those countries’ criminal justice systems. You can read more about it here: http://marleesworldincarcerationexploration.weebly.com/. There are multiple ways you can support her venture: donate money, share contacts and information or share her project with others who you think might support her. I’m really hoping that through her extended network, she’ll be able to find enough support to do this.
Every little bit helps, but no pressure! And thanks for your time :)

EXAMPLE 2
This website was created by Marlee Raible, a person I support who is trying to carry out a unique project: she plans to travel the world following her passion, criminal justice, by exploring different penal systems and incarceration internationally. I strongly encourage you to look at her website that explains her project in more detail: http://marleesworldincarcerationexploration.weebly.com/. There are multiple ways you can support her venture: donate money, share contacts and information or, most importantly, share her endeavor with people you also think would back her project. I think this is a really unique idea and it is exciting to help her pursue this passion. Thank you for taking the time to engage!
