ABOUT DONATING & SHARING

I never intended to do a project like this, where I ask people I know and love for money. Everyone I know already supports me greatly, and I don’t wish to ask for more. This is why I am hoping that, for the people I am sending this directly to, you will not feel you have to directly donate. Instead, what would actually be of greatest help to me is if you would spread this to key people who you think would support the project. All of you have immense networks and I hope that, at your discretion, you choose to send this proposal to those who you think might be able to help. I believe in the power of networks and so I really believe that this method has a strong chance of helping me to realize my goal. For some simple templates I've made to share CLICK HERE.

ABOUT THE AMOUNT
$30,000 is the amount that the Watson fellowship would have provided me and so this is what I am aiming for as well. That being said, I have no idea how well this will work and so even if I make just a fraction of my goal, I am hoping that at least one of the legs of my journey may be realized.
I belive that the best way for you to support my journey would be using either Venmo or PayPal.

A NOTE ON FEES:
With PayPal there is a 2.9% fee taken if you are using a debit or credit card, no fee if your PayPal account in linked directly to your bank account. For Venmo, there is NO FEE for a Debit card, but a 3% fee for using a credit card. If you want to guarantee that all of your donation comes to me, Venmo me with a debit card, or PayPal me with a directly linked account. But I am happy any way you want to support me so please send money in whatever way is most comfortable and convenient for you.
I have also set up a GoFundMe but about 8% of everything you donate on this site is taken for fees, etc (a LOT more than either Venmo or PayPal). GoFundMe is an easy place to donate, so please donate there if that is what is most comfortable for you, but know that I will receive more if you directly send the money to me over something like PayPal or Venmo. I will update the website every week to show how much of the goal has been reached.

ADDITIONAL HELP
Another area in which I could definitely use help is if people have suggestions for places to stay or people they know in any of these locations where I plan on traveling. Also, if people have suggestions for other organizations related to incarceration that they think might be good for me to either just have on my radar or to potentially work with please let me know (remember, plans could potentially change with which organizations I work with so it is great to have alternatives). Or just feel free to tell me about potential experiences/tips for these countries that I should know. I appreciate suggestions and connections! Please contact me here.
